Power Suit

If it’s one thing that I must say, when I walk into a room, any room, no matter the occasion, I own it. That can be very intimidating to some but that’s not my problem. Nothing boosts your confidence more than a power suit, an eye catching one that says a lot before you even open your mouth to speak.

My previous and current profession, working in the Legal field and also recently opening my own Consulting Company (Simply Meshonda Consulting LLC), allows me to dress professionally while advising my clients. It’s important to look the part while actually playing the part. In past years, women were typically only wearing black, blue, or grey suits which are still recommended for some interviews but fast forward to 2021 and it is completely okay to wear suits with color for almost any occasion, including working in Corporate America.

For this suit, I styled it by adding neutral colors, a white basic tank top underneath and a pair of nude Christian Louboutin heels. I added a necklace and I’m off to a lunch meeting with a client. Just keep in mind that if the suit is colorful, you don’t want to overdo it with too many colors. So next time you’re purchasing a suit, opt for the colorful one and you’re sure to stand out.
